Lokketona ยท ร sane, Bergen
Waterfront homes, fjord views
Four detached homes set on a steep rocky outcrop 10km north of Bergen, documented for 3RW Arkitekter. Each house sits differently on the cliff edge, following natural contours to balance privacy with expansive glass and fjord views. I worked on-site to capture placements, material transitions (stone below, timber above), and the cantilevered balconies overlooking Bergen's sailing route.

The brief
The brief focused on showing how the four houses respond to the challenging terrain โ minimal groundwork, natural placements, and large glass openings without compromising neighbour privacy or sunlight.
I planned angles around the rugged terrain and worked to capture the material palette variations (light ash joinery, smoked oak, exposed pine beams) customised to owner preferences.
Each house is oriented slightly differently to follow the site's rocky contours. Large glass panels open to cantilevered balconies with sweeping fjord views. Stone foundations, timber cladding, exposed pine ceilings and tall social spaces all captured for the architectโs portfolio use.
3RW Arkitekter created detailed terrain modelling for house placement and to reduce expensive groundwork. To capture the resulting design and its environmental impact we chose angles that would showcase these environmental decisions.
